We are a vibrant community of alumni dedicated to fostering connections, advancing medical education, and giving back to our cherished Alma Mater, the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Since our inaugural meeting on 17 December 2022, ICOMAA ANZ has been committed to making a tangible difference through key projects that support students and enhance medical facilities. Join us in our mission to uphold the College of Medicine's legacy as a centre of excellence.
At ICOMAA ANZ, we are united by a shared legacy and an enduring connection to the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. Our members bring diverse medical expertise and leadership from across Australia and New Zealand, working collectively to make a difference both locally and internationally.
To promote the welfare and progress of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, and its teaching hospital, the University College Hospital (UCH), while fostering a strong network and spirit of fellowship among our members in Australia and New Zealand.
Through annual events, fundraising initiatives, mentorship programs, and collaborative projects, we strive to create meaningful opportunities for alumni to reconnect, support one another, and contribute to the advancement of medical practice and training.
To support and promote the educational, teaching, and research activities of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, ensuring it remains a global centre of excellence, and to build a vibrant, viable, and impactful alumni association across Australia and New Zealand.
This major infrastructure initiative aims to construct modern student accommodation at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. Adequate and safe housing is crucial for student welfare and academic success.
G-SASP is a vital scholarship initiative providing financial support to academically promising, yet financially disadvantaged students at the College of
Medicine.
We are actively working to procure and deliver a much-needed Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) machine for the Psychiatry Department at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. The department has been without this critical equipment for over four years.
Exploring opportunities for experienced alumni in Australia and New Zealand to contribute directly to medical education through guest lectures, specialised webinars, and student supervision, both virtually and in-person.
Developing partnerships with specialist medical organisations in Nigeria to provide ongoing educational support and professional development opportunities for College of Medicine graduates and staff.
Launching initiatives to further increase alumni participation and support, including dedicated outreach programs to allied health professionals who share a connection with the College of Medicine.
ICOMAA ANZ also serves as a platform for professional growth, advocacy, and intercultural exchange. Whether through scholarships, equipment donations, or skills transfer, we actively seek ways to bridge resources and expertise between continents.
